This championship 18-hole golf course is inside Richard B. Russell State Park, with 10 of its 18 holes skirting the shoreline of Lake Richard B. Russell. While much of the water does not come into play, it can assure you both a challenge and some of the best views in the state. The elevation changes, doglegs and well-placed bunkers will demand that you use every club in your bag.

Opened in 1946, the private 18-hole Elberton golf course at Elbert Country Club features 6,320 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 69.1 and slope rating is 123. There are three sets of tees for different levels of skill. Fairways and greens are Bermuda grass, with water hazards and a few bunkers. The course has a driving range and putting green.

As Georgia’s only Audubon Certified Signature Sanctuary, the 18-hole Cateechee Golf Club course was planned with wildlife habitat at the core. Each hole was designed by architect Mike Young and built around pre-existing habitats to maintain proper corridors and minimize disturbance. Cateechee offers beautiful views, from high ridges to low wetlands. Cedar Creek comes into play on five different holes.

Highland Walk offers 18 holes of great value golf just 23 miles north of Elberton at Victoria Bryant State Park. The course is built on steep rolling hills with broad, crowned Bermuda fairways leading to generous, sloping Bermuda greens.
