What Else Does the Chamber Do?

  • The Chamber of Commerce answers approximately 10,000 phone calls annually questioning the businesses, activities, lifestyles and social aspects of our community.  Others can rely on our source to find your business. 
  • Represents Elbert County in other areas and in state-wide organizations.
  • Functions as the voice of the business community.
  • Periodically sponsors political forums to promote community awareness of the candidates and issues.
  • Provides administrative assistance for and jointly funds a professional economic developer with the municipal and county governments.
  • Provides a community magazine that showcases Elbert County and its abundant resources.
  • Produces city and county maps that also list helpful information to our visitors and potential newcomers.
  • Produces updated brochures on Elbert County promoting what our community has to offer.
  • Maintains an updated Economic Profile.
  • Periodically co-sponsor the Broad River Job Fair with Athens Technical College, DFACS, Georgia Dept. of Labor, Georgia Dept. of Labor Rehabilitation Services and Elberton Career Center.
  • Adult and Youth Leadership Classes co-sponsored with the City of Elberton and the Elbert County Extension Service.
  • Co-sponsors with the Kiwanis Club the Annual Farm City Banquet.
  • Co-sponsors with the Board of Education the annual “Groundhog Job Shadow Day”.
  • Sponsors the Star Student/Teacher Program.
  • Sponsors the annual Elbert County Teachers Appreciation Breakfast.
  • Supports the “Adopt A Highway” Program.
  • Sponsors the annual Fireworks Show at Richard B. Russell State Park.
  • Sponsors an Annual Banquet-style Meeting – a special event to highlight Chamber’s accomplishments of the past year and to recognize key volunteers for a job “well done.”
  • Distributes a monthly newsletter to publicize events, promotions, and other information about Elbert County.
  • Maintains a full time professional staff that makes visitors feel welcome in our community and provides them with information.
